“Travelers are seekers. They are in search of things which can’t be measured or possessed, but are experienced. Some are in search of themselves whereas some are in search of happiness and then there are those, who are in search of the search itself.”- Jason Silva
Travelling has brought a lot of changes in me as a person and has somewhere helped me know myself better. It has taught me things which I would have never learnt if I wouldn’t have taken up all the courage, packed my bag and gone out. There's something about being in a new place. You open up to others, to strangers and most importantly, to yourself. You get to know things that you were unaware of, about yourself before. You get to know your strengths and your weaknesses too, and learn how to work on them, and along the way, knowingly or unknowingly, you teach others as well.
There is a huge difference between knowing something and experiencing something. We may know what is good or bad, but experiencing it is what really lets us grow as a person. We start valuing everything, every individual, their individuality, the diversity on earth, its nature and its characteristics. We come up as a stronger and more experienced individual. It makes us realize how small we and our problems are in front of this big world. We no longer see it as a problem because we now know that there are more important things on this earth. It gives us a break, an escape from the regularity and monotony in life and then lets us respect and value that monotony. We gain some kind of enlightenment and peace to cope up with the harsh realities of life, and that isn’t a small thing.
